Below is another Reflection. This one mentions how a teacher needs to be open minded and open to new things as they work with others to make the best experience for students.
A teacher needs to constantly have an open mind and be willing to try new things. This goes and in hand with being humble. Humble enough to accept when someone else is right, or when someone has a better idea.
The most important thing in education are the students. Making their lives easier, and helping them to understand the material in whatever way poosivle is the entire goal of education.

Standard 10M
The teacher understands that alignment of family, school, and community spheres of influence enhances student learning and that discontinuity in these spheres of influence interferes with learning.
This has been an interesting aspect for me to learn this semester. A school is not just educators and students. In fact, it is the entire community. Everything from parents, family, community culture, background, and of course educators and students are what make up a school. Because of this, a teacher must include and implement all of these in to a classroom. Some of the ideas we mentioned in class are: Parent Teacher Conferences, math night (like they do in Sweetwater county), having parents/guardians come and volunteer at the school, and other things that involve the community and culture.

Standard 10O
The teacher knows how to contribute to a common culture that supports high expectations for student learning.
Below is a reflection that covers this topic verbatim and in full. Teachers need to make sure that their students are always striving for their best, and that they are held to high, but reasonable, expectations.
